For the past 40 years, Elder Midwife Whapio Diane Bartlett has attended births and in 2001 created The Matrona as an educational program to advance the return of birth to the family. Through the lens of undisturbed birth, Whapio teaches Independent Birth Attendants and Holistic Doulas the art of instinctual birth.
